Hi,
for your information:
a technical memo describing amplitudes losses due to pointing and focus problems at the VLBA
has been released: see Memo 73, here: https://library.nrao.edu/vlbat.shtml
This has affected all our GMVA observations during 2018-2020. After Apr. 2020 the VLBA performance
improved again, but it would be useful to check/update the pointing parameters of the VLBA
regularly and prior to planned GMVA sessions.
Since the pointing is done using bright SiO sources at 7mm, the GMVA data quality also depends on a good
alignment of the 7mm and 3mm telescope beams.
kind regards, Thomas
