The aim of the test would be to record in piggyback mode with the DBBC3 during the GMVA fringe test, with same configuration as for the DBBC2, to compare results with both backends.

I recall the stations interested in such a test were at least: Onsala, Metsahovi, Effelsberg, and Yebes.

It will help tremendously to have feedback from Bonn correlator on the DBBC3 performance.

Hope it can be organised.

Many thanks,
Cristina

Dear Cristina,

thanks for your suggestion. It may be difficult to find a suitable time slot for this, since not
all European stations are technically ready for this. The actual time slots are already fixed. I am not sure
how flexible other stations would be.

We have to be a bit careful for recabling, so that the science portion of the GMVA run is not affected
by possible errors when switching back to 'normal' mode. So such a test could be performed best
at the end/after the GMVA run.

I guess we would need a little bit of preparation and discussion. IRAM and Effelsberg do not have a 3 frequency
capability. Which stations do you have in mind ? I also do not have a setup file for three frequencies.

kind regards, Thomas
